Supplementary Acton of protein

What is the basis of counselling people to eat mixed diet??

Well, man derives protein from variety of food sources.
Cereal proteins are deficient in amino acids called lysine and threonine where as pulse protein are defieient in methionine.
These are known as limiting amino acids.
When two or more of vegetarian food are eaten together, their proteins supplement one another and provide a protein comparable to animal protein in respect to amino acids.
Thus, with proper planning,it is possible for a #VEGETARIAN to obtain a high grade protein at low cost from mixed diet of cereals, pulse and vegetables.
Cereals are Rice,wheat etc
Pulse are grams,beans etc
